Chuck Fannin Memorial Page

Chuck Fannin passed away on 4-12-18 after a short and brave battle with cancer. Chuck is the father of Scott, Jason, Amanda and Kurt and has four grandchildren.

Since 1984, with his wife Deborah, Chuck operated Fannin Remodeling, which is well known in the greater Toledo area. Chuck enjoyed running the business and took great pride in the words "a job well done" by his clients. He loved to mentor his employees and see them grow in their skills. The family would like to thank loyal employees Eric Lewis and Tom Plaigman for keeping the company on track during Chuck's illness. Thanks also to past employee Brad Geer for the same.

Chuck enjoyed telling jokes and never became tired of watching a good Western on TV in his free time. He could often be heard singing cowboy tunes like "Git Along Little Dogies." He was a loving father, was definitely a "people" person and always a friend and help mate to his neighbors, especially Mrs. Sue Schoonmaker.

In his free time, Chuck volunteered over the years with many local organizations including:  The Toledo Home Remodelers Association, The Homebuilders of Greater Toledo, and the the Penta County Board of Education.
He also served as Chairman of the City of Toledo Board of Controls for 10 years, was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 252/St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns, and was President of the St. John's Jesuit Father's Club, where his son was a student at the time. As some in the Club would say "No one can sell 50/50 tickets better than Chuck."

Chuck's wife of 32 years, Deborah is thankful to all who helped her with Chuck's care throughout his illness, including family--especially Tara Paine, friends--especially Barry Ammons, The Victory Center, Sr. Gail Lambert and Fr. Tony Borgia of St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns, The OSU James Cancer Center and The Manor at Perrysburg--especially Julie Didion.

If you would like to make a memorial contribution to the family or an organization of the family's choice, you may do so at this location or go to : The Victory Center,  a non-profit support organization for cancer patients, survivors, and those closest to them (http://thevictorycenter.org) or the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 252 (https://www.erieshorescouncil.org).
Thank you.
