Christopher Rubow Memorial Fund

Christopher Rubow, MEd., BCBA, received his Ph.D. in Psychology, posthumously. HIs focus was on Applied Behavior Analysis.

Christopher lived only 25 years, but during this time he touched the lives of family, friends, the children he helped, colleagues, and acquaintances in such a unique and gentle way. His brilliance, kindness, and loving heart shined in everything he did.

Christopher’s research paper, "Effects of the Good Behavior Game on student and teacher behavior in an alternative school.”, was published in April in the The Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. His work will be cited for years to come. His advisor, Tim Vollmer, and his colleague, Ray Joclyn made this happen, and we are eternally grateful.

Christopher also had other cutting edge studies that were in various stages of writing or data analysis and his colleagues will continue to try and publish those. It sometimes takes a while between submission of a study and eventual publication, so this process could be going on for the next five or more years.

The Dr. Christopher Rubow Memorial Fund has been created at the University of Florida. It will help continue the important research Christopher was doing to help improve the lives of children with autism, and emotional and behavioral disorders. The fund will be used for:
a) setting up a research fund through the University , wherein students apply for either support in their educational research or travel to present their research; and b) donating to the Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior to support classroom and/or educational research. This is the group that oversees philanthropic and scientific endeavors in his field.

Spencer: Christopher was a brilliant and unique person who's passion for helping people extended beyond himself and even beyond words. While there is no one who could parallel my brother and his work, donating to these funds will help ensure that people who worked in Christopher's field will receive adequate resources to help continue to research, lecture about, and develop the Behavioral Science's that Christopher wanted to help flourish.

Victor: Having Christopher as my brother was one of the best things in my life.  He was always such a caring, funny, and overall great person to be around.  I'm going to miss our inside jokes, and will always cherish all the memories I have of him.  His research, and studies are an amazing feat. He loved working with kids and helping them to progress.  Donating to this fund will help students in Christopher's field of study in seminars, travel, and research expenses.  This will help others to keep making advances, as Christopher did, in Behavioral Sciences.

We thank everyone for your support always, and the love and kindness you have shown our family.
