Christmas Magic for Survivors

Donation protected
Connections for Abused Women and their Children is the oldest domestic violence organization in Chicago. In 1979 they opened Chicago's first domestic violence shelter. For 38 years they have provided life saving services and opportunities for women to escape dangerous situations and start new lives for themselves and their children. The money raised here will provide a magical Christmas experience for the women and children in CAWC's emergency shelter. Though it's difficult to guess exactly how many people will be in shelter at that time I'm estimating between 50 and 60. The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry has generously offered to cover basic admission to their Christmas Around the World event. That's HUGE and will allow us to do so much more! Dinner, transportation for the days events, and gifts will be our main focus. Any money raised beyond that will be used to purchase items needed at the shelter or will be donated directly to CAWC. As a child I watched my mom struggle to get out of an abusive marriage. We spent countless nights in shelters just like these families. I know first hand how much something like this means. How special and uplifting it will be for them to create beautiful memories as they work toward creating a new and safe life. Please consider making a donation and sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Together we can make this Christmas, a Christmas they'll never forget.

I told you all in an update about #truthordareforacause but was unable to add the videos then, so here they. Prepare to giggle!
