Christmas Display Warm Springs Park

Donation protected
The Wasatch Warm Springs Park has a long and rich history with inhabitants along the Wasatch Front and Salt Lake City. The Wasatch Warm Springs is the oldest natural "Pleasure Resort" in Utah. Before the Pioneers came to the Salt Lake Valley, Native Americans used the warm springs for pleasure, resources, transportation, and refuge.

Pioneers learned from the native population the many benefits of the warm springs and built themselves a "Bath House". A Bath House has always been in operation at the warm springs until the 1970's, when Salt Lake City closed the Wasatch Plunge Building.

Since that time the warm springs and the parks have steadily fallen victim to the ravages of time and decay. To add insult to injury, residents began to move further south and west from the park thus causing the warm springs to fade from memory. Nobody cared about the Wasatch Warm Springs or the Parks that encompass them any longer.

Today there are people who want to bring the Warm Springs and their Parks back from the dead. They wish to rejuvenate, renew, and revitalize the Wasatch Warm Springs Park. These people see the park as a place where heritages from different ethnic or religious groups and cultures can come, with their families, to celebrate their heritages. The parks can become a place to understand, learn about, and share the richness and diversity that an ethnic or religious group or culture has to offer. A place that unifies us not divide us because of our differences.

Yes, this is a high, lofty, and pie in the sky goal but it can be accomplished. We earthlings have the potential and are capable of many great and wonderful things. If we will engage our hearts, minds, and souls, and never give up we can create a place of peace, tolerance, and understanding right here in our community. Gone forever will be the days of violence, injustice, intolerance, hate, and poor communications.

Phase 1 - Clean-up The Warm Springs and Encompassing Parks

To date we have made great strides in this area however, this is an ongoing process that will need constant attention from the city and community.

Phase 2 - Hold Events and Celebrations in the Parks

Currently we are only celebration the 4th of July. This year (2015) we will start celebrating Christmas.

On the first Saturday in December we will have a Christmas themed event. Part of this event will be the Park Lighting Ceremony with an unveiling of a new Christmas Display for the Park. There will also be activities, music and hot drinks for all attendees.

For this year's display we have chosen a gigantic Santa's Sleigh pulled by Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The entire display is about 20 feet long by 15 feet tall by 4 feet wide (It's HUGE). It will be a great place to take Christmas Pictures.

Santa's Sleigh will be displayed north of the Warm Springs Building in the park facing 300 West around 900 North. It will be easily seen by everyone including rush hour traffic on 3rd West.

We need your help to raise funds for the new "Christmas Display" for the Park. Everything that you can do to promote this fund raiser to family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and businesses is greatly appreciated. We have setup a "Go Fund Me" account to make donating to this cause as easy as possible.

Please be generous with your donations.
