Greetings!
My name is Christian Trigg, a current graduating senior Sales and Marketing major attending Tuskegee University. I am writing this letter in request for financial support to attend a study trip experience to the Dominican Republic from March 7-14, 2015. Having the opportunity to travel abroad for the first time would be a life changing and eye opening journey. When I heard about the Global Incite trip, I immediately viewed it as an opportunity to embark on a lifechanging experience before graduating. Studying abroad has always been on my mind in college, however, my internships during the summer did not allow the length of absence.
Out of all of the trips offered, the Dominican Republic trip intrigued me the most because of its focus on economic and community development. Additionally, it would make me all the more thankful for the opportunities and resources offered to me in the United States. Since studying economics in the early part of college, I have developed a great desire to learn more about how economies operate in other countries. Participating students will study the methodology challenges of economic development. Moreover, they will explore watersheds and the effects that agricultural practices have on watersheds. With this being said, this trip will help me gain a hands on experience with aiding in economic development and humanitarian projects.
Although I have attained a part time job to help cover some of the costs for the trip, I will not be able to afford to travel to Dominican Republic earning minimum wage. With the financial help of family, friends, church members, etc, I can commence an abroad experience unlike any other. The trip cost $1900.00, however, $600.00 have been raised (Please See Below for Payment Schedule). If I am able to attend the trip, I gurantee that I will represent my sponsors, university, family, and myself to the highest extent. Any donation will help me accomplish this endeavor.
