I am a 41yr old mother of 2 that married her high school sweetheart :) I'm a very optimistic, positive thinker. I worked for a dog collar company. I was there for over four years and have put in many letters of interest for a higher position. AND December of 2013 I FINALLY GOT PROMOTED!!!! :) but 2014 has not been my year :Actually I was experiencing some abdominal pain and bloating over the holidays and by New Year's Eve 2013 I wasn't able to sit at a table with my jeans buttoned. So my husband said I needed to go to the doctor. Well instead of driving to work, on the second of January. I drove myself the the ER. At first they thought it was my gallbladder but after a few tests they said it was a blood clot on my liver that had started to bleed internally. Sooo they hooked me up to a bunch of machines and kept me in ICU for 2 days and 2 days in a regular room. My blood count (after being stuck every 8hrs) had equalled out. So I was sent home (Jan.6)with another ct-scan scheduled the following week. Well 2 days later my abdomen was so large I looked like I was about to give birth. So I went back to my doctor(Jan. 9). He does a blood test called a CA125, but really doesn't tell me anything. He schedules the ct-scan to be done sooner. 2 days go by(Jan. 11) and I go in for the ct-scan of my liver. They notice more spots on my liver. So they do another ultrasound but only this one is more invasive and focused on my female organs. But there was so much fluid in my abdomen they really couldn't see anything. So they did a paracentesis (to drain the fluid) and sent out some of the fluid. The doctor said he was 99% sure I had cancer and he was setting up a PET SCAN to make sure. Well that was Saturday when Monday afternoon came around and we hadn't heard anything we (my husband and I) started making phone calls. The facility that the doctor wanted me to use wasn't sure I could get an appointment with them until the following week. We weren't waiting that long so I called other places and found one that could do it that Thursday but it turned out the doctors facility came threw and I got in on Jan. 15. My nurse called me the next day with the number of a gynecologist/oncologist. So I called them and made an appointment with them for Monday Jan 20. When I go I find out my CA125 blood test came back at 3388 (a normal score is 25). The PET SCAN showed activity all threw my abdomen but mainly in my ovaries. So I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer that had spread to my abdominal wall and liver. Since the cancer was so wide spread I was to have 4 chemo treatments and then some kind of surgery. After the third treatment my CA125 dropped to below 100 (the mark I needed to hit to have surgery.) Surgery went really well!! They were able to remove all the CANCER that they could see. I had 4 more rounds of chemo. As of August 20, 2014 I am CANCER FREE. But due to ObamaCare our insurance coverage changed in August. Leaving me with medical bills I didn't expect and our deductible is doubling next year :( I'm sorry to be asking you to give me your hard earned money. I know what it's like to work hard for your money. I finally got a position the position I had work 2 yrs to get and had to walk away from it. I have limited energy and a VERY bad memory(thank you, chemo). Like I said in the beginning I am a optimistic, positive person and I'm trying not let my health and money change that!! So I'm reaching out to my friends that are family and family that are my friends. Please help me reach my goal :) thank you!!!
