As many of Chrissy's friends know, she suffered a life changing injury two months ago. The middle finger of her right hand was crushed in a defective window.
It was clear almost immediately that Chrissy would not regain the use of that finger ... the damage was too extensive. However, the doctors have been trying to save the finger in a series of emergency surgeries. Unfortunately the situation became very critical in the last few days and she is now fighting a very serious bone infection. The upshot of which is she is on a daily IV antibiotics for eight weeks, and is undergoing amputation of the finger on June 2nd.
You all know her as an art teacher or coach, an artist, trainer, or dedicated athlete. Obviously this accident and the loss of her finger is traumatic and will dramatically affect all of her professions and vocations. She has, and will continue to, suffer lost income from taking time off for the surgery, doctors visits, rehab, and having to cancel several summer coaching and art camp jobs. To make matters worse, the medical bills are mounting rapidly with many of them not being covered by insurance.
I initiated this Go Fund Me campaign in hopes that the many people she has touched will be able to help her out. The need is very critical and immediate as she is has to pay for amputation surgery and the IV antibiotics ... both of which are non-negotiable at this point in order to ensure that the infection does not spread, which would be life-threatening.
The $10,000 is conservative, and only addresses Chrissy's immediate medical needs. It does not begin to cover all her emergency surgeries and lost income. The IV fluids are nearly $150 a day for eight weeks for a total of nearly $8000, and the amputation surgery is $6000.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. My children have been lucky enough to have Chrissy as their art teacher this year (that's my kiddo in the picture with her) and I've been (un)lucky enough to have her as my personal trainer. I would love to see the trauma of the situation eased by relieving the financial burden.
Please spread this to anyone you think might be interested in helping and thank you!
