Chris's Wish & Legacy

Donation protected
For anyone who doesn't know Chris Mossauer, he is an amazing Dad to his 4.5 year daughter Eliana, he's a devoted husband to his wife Heather, a committed Saskatchewan RoughRider fan, a car fanatic who loves his 2007 Ford Mustang V6 and he's recently been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer that has progressed beyond treatment.  Chemo is no longer an option.

When Eliana was only a few months old, Chris was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.  Rather than spending time enjoying his daughter's arrival, Chris was suddenly confronted with chemo, radiation, and surgeries spending a lot of time in hospital in Victoria, Nanaimo and Courtenay.  Heather suddenly was caring for her first infant child and her sick husband all while continuing to work to support the family.  6months into treatments Chris found out his colon cancer had metastasis to his liver and while Chris ended up having some of his colon removed and had an Illeostomy, he also had surgery to remove 25% of his liver.  A year later that Illeostomy was reversed and he was declared cancer free.
Whew! Relief!
Then, last year, when Eliana was 3, Chris had really serious back pain.  Thinking he had pulled a muscle or had kidney stones, he went to emergency, only to discover the cancer had returned, this time in his liver. Back and forth to Drs and hospitals, Chris underwent another series of chemo.  They tried a number of different chemos and some newer alternative therapy.  Awful side effects and no positive benefits. Nothing worked.

Chris has now been told by his team of Drs the cancer in his liver is not responding, there is nothing medically left they can do and the family is simply to focus on making him comfortable to help bare the pain.
He is officially terminal.....

Chris's birthday is coming up at the end of March.  For his 45th birthday, Chris and Heather would love to take Eliana on a last family trip to Disneyland while Chris still has the energy to travel. We aren't sure how long Chris's energy will last, so they'd like to take this trip as soon as possible.

We are hoping for any donations towards this trip, so that Chris can see Eliana's smile and excitement at seeing "Elsa" in person.  All excess money will help Heather, as she will need a lot of additional financial support as Chris is not longer able to work (and not eligible for disabilty) and will have additional health related costs at home to make sure he is as comfortable as possible (special beds, chairs, nurses and care etc).
If you can't donate, please consider forwarding this all to friends and family.
And if you live in the Comox Valley, consider using Heather for buying and selling your Real Estate.
They could really use the support.
