Chris & Janaki take on cancer!

Donation protected
This site continues on to support the family of Chris McIsaac as they endure the rigors associated with his ongoing treatment for Stage 4 Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Chris and Janaki have been overwhelmed with the generosity of the many family, friends, acquaintances and strangers who have offered financial and spiritual support through this challenging and difficult time. They are truly grateful as that generous support has had an immediate impact in reducing the significant levels of anxiety and stress that have become a constant part of their lives over the last several months. They are now able to focus more of their energy on what is most important: Chris defeating this insidious disease.

Chris’ latest round of treatment is taking place at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center located in Los Angeles, California (www.cedars-sinai.edu) at a frequency of five times per week. Once this phase is completed, Chris’ medical team will conduct a reassessment to determine his future course of care. This site will be maintained to provide much needed, ongoing support for the family in the face of an uncertain future. Kindly continue to spread the word about this site and Chris’ situation and continue to keep their family in your thoughts and prayers. Lastly, below is a message recently posted by Chris to his Facebook page concerning his present status.

Sincerely,
Team Chris 'Bruin/Patriot/RedSox' McIsaac

A note from the man himself:

“Good morning Ive been wanting to get on here and update everyone on the battle that has been waged the last 5 months or so and finally Im here. The beginning of September marks a milestone for my fight. My last week of chemotherapy(9th?) and 7th week of radiation begin tommorrow. Last week was a scary one for us involving a pnemonia and fever scare we survived it. The doctors are confident this could be it on treatment, hopefully forever but at least for a while and any break will be a great change from hospital trips 5 days a week and 4 plus hrs in traffic every day for months on end. I wouldnt have made it this far without my wife who has carried me and my family thru, also my mother in law, mother, sisters, and friends who have come here to help out. A special thank you for all the prayers and all the donations on this sight. To see the names from the past and present chipping in reallly leaves me and my wife speechless. Not gonna lie this treatment really can flatten a family financially. From family to life long friends, teammates, to friends I haven't seen in ages, we are overwhelmed. Friends of friends and relatives also have brought me to tears w your notes and support. Special thank you to a man I havent seen in years but helped my brother Barry put together this cruise together later this month, Captain Joe Reardon thank you buddy for an incredible act of kindness. Truly one of the good guys in the world. So this labor day we hopefully will start to see an end of this battle which has been demoralizing at times, vicious and brutal at others and we will start a couple months of recuperation to get my strength back. Looking to find some of the 40 plus pounds Ive lost back. Good news is my hair appears to be coming back after they took me off one of the drugs. Anyhow I ll try to keep everyone posted again as we go for a full on recovery We love you all. Chris AND Janaki"
