FES Cycle for Chris Costello

Three years ago, my brother Chris, was in a terrible car accident which left him a quadrpeligic with multiple medical complications. He has since pursued a number of physical therapy alternatives and it has been deemed that the Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Cycle is the most effective device for improving his health. The FES Cycle provides an alternative therapy method for strengthening muscles, increasing joint range of motion and improving overall function. This FES cycle is medically necessary to maintain and improve Chris' condition and to prevent further medical complications that can have grave health consequences. The FES is a Class II medical device that carries FDA clearance for rehabilitation in the following areas: 
-helps to relax muscle spasms
-prevention/retardation of disuse atrophy 
-increased local blood flow and circulation
-maintain/increase range of motion
Chris' insurance will not cover the cost of purchasing a FES cycle for home use and will not even cover the use of this cycle at a Physical Therapist office either. Our family is currently paying out of pocket for him to utilize it twice a week at his Physical therapy appointments that are over an hour away.  However, this is an extreme financial burdon and is not giving Chris the full benefit that he truly needs. 
Donations recieved would go directly toward purchasing an FES Cycle for home use to ensure that he uses it daily as it is recommended for his condition. 
Any donations would be greatly appreciated and could provide Chris an improved quality of life that also equates to a longer, healthier life.
