On January 7, 2020 I walked into JFK hospital and have not walked since. I have been laying in a hospital bed every day since. It’s been 22 months. I was having surgery on my spine to put an end to my pain pills. The promises were great.  

I have been cut open in the operating room 7 times because of the infection I’ve had since January 7, 2020. With all the cuts in my back my hole was at the largest 4” deep, 2” wide and 16 “ long.  This visit  (September 2021) at the hospital I find out it’s an infection that’s been in my back since day 1 - January 7 2020. It never cured. I’ve been told it’s not curable. 

This visit September they put together two antibiotics to run twice a day for 40 days and 50 days this time, which ended November 2.  I’m on an antibiotic for a surface infection now. This one is to run 2 times a day for 2-4 weeks.

I am at Kindred Hospital which is a long term hospital.  Don’t know if the infection is gone but will know soon. The last option is to remove all the hardware. My vitals show my heart rate over a 100 which showed me everyday I had the infection. Which reached as high as 133.

I just pray everyday that I can walk, go back to work and live my life again. I’m blessed God wakes me up everyday.

I lost my job last year and had to use my savings which I’ve extinguished it all so I have to ask for help from Go Fund Me.

I have no money left to pay for a caregiver to take care of me when they kick me out of the hospital and a physical therapist to teach me to walk again or to pay my bills.
