On 8/17/2013, my brother Chris, suffered an extremely bad stroke. After a bad feeling, I ran to his house at 10:46pm to find him lifeless on his bed, where he had laid, alone for approx 15 hours, scared, paralyzed and unable to move any part of his body. He was immediately rushed into surgery where a giant blood clot was removed from his brain. Between the stroke, the amount of time it took to find him, the location of the blood clot, and the amount of time he went with little to no oxygen, his brain was permanently damaged. His MRI's show a giant black hole right in the center of his brain. August 18, 2013, was a day that changed both our lives forever.
Because the demand in NY for stroke rehabs there is a 2 year waiting list just to apply. He now resides in an old age home, which is not equipped to give him the care & therapy he so badly deserves. However, there are several available beds in stroke rehabs in Florida.
We are trying to raise the funds to have Chris transported from NY to FL so he will have a chance to get better, live some part of life, survive.
