Bring Chris Home

Donation protected
On July 30, 2021 a day before his birthday, Chris was rushed to the Geisinger Medical Center and put on life support. He had a carbon dioxide build up of 120. A normal level is 30. He was in ICU and at times we didn't know if he would pull through. He was put on a ventilator and then went into renal failure. He then started dialysis. At the same time they had to do a trachyotomy to get his carbon dioxide count down as well as a pick line for the dialysis. The four hour surgery turned into eight hours with complications. His surgeon thinks he had a stroke at some point during the operation. When Chris came to, his whole right side had been effected from his right arm down. He could barely use his right hand and his right foot was paralyzed with no feeling from his knee down. He went through physical and occupational therapy. Miraculously his kidneys started working again.

In November 2021 Chris was moved to a medical rehab 120 miles away from his family. He continued physical and occupational therapy but unfortunately his legs are still too weak to support him sitting in a wheel chair. Because of this an ambuance has to transport him on a gurney.

A lot of prayers have been answered. He is doing better and can now go home to continue his recovery and physical therapy. He will continue to use the ventilator at night when he sleeps. In order for Chris to come home due to insurance, liability, and safety, the medical transport ambulance is requiring a handicap ramp, since he can not use a wheelchair right now. He will have to go to the hospital to get his traych changed about every one to three months. The deck that is outside the front door is too small for a gurney so it has to be made slightly bigger. The ramp and extention is going to cost $6,050. The ambulance copay is $5,500.

On top of trying to pay for this, the rehabilitaion facility is now charging him $659 a month which is almost his complete monthly disability check.

If you can help bring Chris home it would be much appreciated! He has missed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, his wife's birthday, and Easter at home. It would be nice if he could be home in time for the him and his kid's upcoming birthdays in July.

We understand not everyone can help financially, but it would be a big help for your prayers and sharing his story with others. Thank you for taking time to read this profile.
