This is my babe, my husband Chris, and he is very ill. He was diagnosed with Gastroparesis a few months ago.
In 2012, when he was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, we were told about what medicines he had to take, how much and when he should take it. We were told what he should eat, how much and when. We were told about the exercise he was supposed to do. We were told about increasing his medicines if he didn't do as directed. We were even told about the possible outcome if he didn't do what he was supposed to do; the possibility of losing his eyesight, the possibility of losing limbs.
We were never told about Gastroparesis; that his stomach could stop functioning properly and that he would not be able to eat normally. We were'nt told that he would lose so much weight, on average he weighed anywhere from 180- 210 lbs. He now weighs 100 pounds. We were never told that he would be in constant, severe pain all day & all night. We were never told that he would have to go to the emergency room every other week because of the pain and the only relief would be hooked to pain medicine via IV.
He lost his job because of his illness and we have no insurance for him but that doesn't stop the hospital visits and the subsequent hospital bills. He has to see a specialist in order to try to get this illness under control and just a consult alone costs over $200. Without medical insurance or the additional income we cannot afford his care out of pocket, but that doesn't mean we stop his care.
My babe is a very proud man and doesn't like to ask for help but his life is literally at stake and we have to reach out and ask...please help us/me save Chris' life.
