With an enthusiastic zest for life, my dad always embraced news opportunities and tackled new adventures head on. Inspired by his continuous can-do attitude, I am running my very first marathon on October 8th to raise money for the American Heart Association in honor of my dad who passed away nearly 10 years ago from a heart attack.
The American Heart Association tirelessly works to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. All proceeds from my fundraising will be donated to the American Heart Association in my dad’s name and contribute to the AHA’s 2020 goal of improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent, and reduce deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent, by the year 2020.
