Help our kids play chess in Atlanta!

Donation protected

Our students attend a high poverty elementary/middle school in New York City.  Since we have started a chess club at the school, the students have been super excited about playing chess in class, after school, and in local tournaments. Chess has helped them enhance their concentration skills, learn about strategizing, and work on problem solving. Now that they have played at a number of local tournaments, they are eligible to attend a national chess tournament!  Thus year, the tournament will be in Atlanta.

The students are thrilled at the possibility of leaving their home state and representing their school in Atlanta. However, there are numerous expenses involved including airfare, hotels and food. As our students come from low income families, they are unable to contribute much toward the trip. We would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide to help us reach our goal of getting to Atlanta.  Help our students continue to develop their potential as chess champions!

Our program is part of Chess in the Schools, an organization that brings chess teachers into schools throughout New York City.  Our amazing Chess in the Schools teacher is Bryan Quick.
