For the past three years, I have spent time in Haiti working with Foundation For Peace. FFP strives to serve the different communities in Haiti by providing clean water, medical care, education, and churches. These are crucial aspects to living a healthy and happy life, which everybody deserves. I have decided to return to Haiti to devote my time as an English teacher at the Men Nan Men School.

My life has changed in a different way each time that I have traveled to this beautiful country. I look at life differently, and now know what is truly important. From the very first time I went to Haiti, I was struck by the faith and hope that the Haitians hold in their hearts every day. Despite all the bad circumstances, they find a way to see joy and positivity in each day. This is when I knew that I would be going back for an extended period of time to serve the Haitians in any way that I can. During my three trips to Haiti, I have taught english, dug a hole for a cistern, helped build a school, visited an orphanage, distributed hygine kits and clean water in a remote village, and bulit and painted latrines in that same village. The Men Nan Men vocational school in Ganthier, Haiti, is where I have spent most of my time working during my time there. This school serves countless Haitians of all ages by teaching them to speak Spanish and English; two necessary skills in order to obtain a good job. I am so grateful to be returning for six months. In addition to teaching, I will be assisting mission teams that come to volunteer their time to FFP, and to help with project completion. I know that on top of all of the relationsips I have formed in Haiti, I will create so many new friendships during my time living there, and I have no doubt that my life will be changed for the better.
