Our wonderful daughter is heading west for an amazing opportunity and needs your support for travel expenses. Kristina has received offers in Phoenix and Las Vegas restaurants, as part of the Women in Culinary
Leadership Grant Program.
The Women in Culinary Leadership is an accelerated, learning-by-doing mentorship program. Offered under the auspices of the James Beard Foundation, WICL gives women with a minimum of two years of professional hospitality or culinary experience the chance to work with top industry leaders and build in-depth skills in the kitchen, in restaurant management, or in both areas. Candidates will learn firsthand how to break through the culinary world’s “glass ceiling.”

Kristina will fly to Las Vegas on April 9th, and on the 11th do a stage (French word stagiaire meaning trainee, apprentice or intern) with Blau Restaurants http://elizabethblau.com/restaurants/
Then travel to Phoenix for a second stage on the 13th, before returning back home to make a big decision. The opportunity would move her out west in June for 6 months to a year.
Your contribution would help fund her initial flight, hotel, and expenses associated with exploring the area. Then, later, help offset her moving expenses.
As you know, our girl has been expanding her culinary experiences since her first days in the kitchen with mom and grandma. Her path continued with culinary classes in high school, work under the wonderful mentor, Chef Michelle Bailey, graduation from AB Tech Culinary program, and her current position under the skillful mentorship of Chef Chris Hathcock and Patrick O'Cain of Gan Shan Station. Kristina is so very grateful to receive this grant and now have the opportunity to expand her experiences. With your contribution she would be able to focus on the adventure ahead with deep gratitude for the support of her life's passion.
