<div>A few days ago, she went to the hospital due to an enlarged liver and a mass on her pancreas. We never expected she’d be airlifted shortly after, due to a severe bleeding ulcer that forced doctors to sedate her for several days.

<div>My dad and I have both had to take time off work. We’re trying to alternate so one of us can be there with her at all times, but leave isn’t fully paid—and there are still bills, a home to manage, and so much uncertainty ahead.
