My name is Karla Marie Williams. I am the founder of iSpeak4KidsGlobal. It is my absolute passion to be a voice for children and see them cared for in families and not institutions. www.ispeak4kidsglobal.com .
I have spent the last several years traveling across the globe, training and inspiring foster and adoptive families, social workers, advocates and government workers. My work has taken me throughout the U.S., several African countries (Ethiopia, Ghana and Zimbabwe), Latin American countries (Mexico and Costa Rica) and Thailand.
My trainings are to help families compassionately parent children who have been traumatized within their own communities and break down misconceptions of foster care/adoption.
I have seen children's lives transformed and flourish as they have been removed from institutions and placed in families right in their communities.
I am scheduled to travel to Malawi March 17-26, 2018. I will be training rural families and child advocates who partner with the families as they embark upon the journey of foster care in their communities.
To date, my family has paid for a majority of the expenses on these trips. Our passion and determination in this area is strong and every investment we have made in the lives of children is worth it.
I am asking for your investment & partnership to better the lives of children in Malawi. Your donation will help with travel costs to Malawi, training materials costs, in country accomodations as we work to change the lives of children, families and communities.
As I prepare for my trip to Malawi that has been 2 years in the making, I want to introduce you to someone very special.
Pastor James Chikopa is the pastor of Everlasting Life Ministries in Zomba, Malawi. He is a devoted husband and father. He is a full time computer science professional at the university. He is the founder and director of a Children's Center that educates and feeds countless children from surrounding villages. He is a businessman of many enterprises that assist him in caring for his community. He is in the process of removing children from orphanages/children's homes and placing them into families where they belong.
Most of all, his passion for orphans and vulnerable children came from his experience of being an orphan himself. Pastor James took his experiences and said NO MORE for the kids of his community.
It is his vision and his tenacity that made me commit to going and training these new foster parents and advocates to care for these children that will become part of new families in their community. I am overjoyed and excited to partner with him and see this vision come to pass.
