Hi Friends and Family,

First- to those who have seen the Facebook updates and walked through the last couple weeks with us, I would like to express my absolute gratitude for all your prayers, thoughts, help, support and love for my brother Chad, his wife Shannah, and our entire family during this season of unexpected difficulty.  What a blessing you are!

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! can not be said enough.

For those of you who may not know the story, my brother Chad suffered some very extensive injuries on January 5th.

My sister-in-law Shannah writes:
"On Friday, Jan 5, our lives were changed forever.  Chad was enjoying his favorite hobby and passion when he fell 30 feet from his tree stand.  From the moment he left the tree, God was at work.  He lost consciousness then, by God’s grace, woke up and called me.  We started the process of getting help.  God worked through the skill and compassion of the first responders to keep Chad from freezing during the 3 hour extraction in very cold temperatures.  He was finally flown to Cox South (Springfield, MO, 2 hours from our home) where it was found he had severe injuries, including a high velocity hip fracture and severe dislocation fracture of the left radius/ulna (elbow).

His hip was repaired in surgery, followed by a difficult post-op recovery.  More than a week later, his elbow was repaired in a complicated second surgery.  He spent 12 days total in the hospital and now is home."

Chad recovery process will be lengthy.  He has needed intense direct care which has been provided by my sister-in- law, Shannah, who fortunately is a nurse by trade.  She has needed to take unpaid time off work to care for him for an extended period of time.  Due to the nature of his injuries, Chad will not be able to work for an unknown amount of time. He has always been a hard-working family man. He and Shannah have two children, Davyn, 8, and Emarie, 4.  He is now in a wheelchair for the next few weeks.  This has been a drastic, unexpected, heartbreaking event for this young family. Nevertheless, in the midst of these challenges we are ever thankful to God for the miracle that Chad is still with us and he will recover.

Many of you have graciously asked me how you can help, so I have created this page for those who would like to help assist them the financial needs.  I know they would appreciate anything you feel lead to give.  There are other ways to help besides giving monetarily. If you would rather help meet their needs in other ways, please contact Chad and Shannah on Facebook:

Above all, we would be tremendously grateful for your continued prayers for my brothers healing process and full recovery.
Thank you all for being the amazing blessing you are in each of our lives!

With deepest gratitude,
Melanie
