Hello. My name is Ladonna Case. My brother, Chad Case, was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma of the lung on July 7, 2014. It's not only is in his lung, but has also spread to his adrenal gland and trachea. He has just finished his second round of chemotherapy. His cell count was low last week and they had to give him a shot to get his count back up so he could stay on track with his chemo. He will do another round of chemo and then they will do another scan to see if his cancer is shrinking or spreading. It will then be determined if they continue the same treatment or start a more aggressive approach. This cancer is extremely aggressive. Surgery and radiation are NOT OPTIONS. The doctor said that most patients don't live more than 8-13 months and only 2% live up to 5 years.
This is not Chad's first battle with cancer. When he was around two, he was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma. It is rare cancer of the retina. After losing an eye, he adapted well and has become a wonderful man.
Chad is a 32 year old father of 3 beautiful boys! Sadly his son's have had the same hereditary disease. Chad coaches their baseball and footballs teams. When that's not going on, they are always enjoying the outdoors and fishing. Those boys love the outdoors. His fiancé Juliette has been an awesome support system for him and I'm greatful he has her there! She has two boys as well, so with 5 boys combined, they have their hands full!
Our parents are doing everything they can financially, but there is so much more ahead he will need help with. They will be forever greatful for any amount you can help with!
