Adoption: Love, Hope & Faith

• Our Story: Greetings, we are the Castro’s. My name is Lisa and my husband’s name is Bryan. Bryan and I got married seven years ago. We are a humble Christian family with big hearts. As every couple imagines we planned on finishing our education, getting good jobs, and continuing to grow our family. It was important to us to start trying right away to build our family due to my father having cancer. We wanted to ensure that our child would be able to meet his or her Grandfather. Unfortunately my father passed away not long after we had begun trying.  Because of our loss, we took time before we started trying again to get pregnant.  I am a Type 1 diabetic, so getting pregnant and not having complications for the child or myself is not easy. We continued trying for the next two years still with no luck. We then turned to a fertility doctor to see if there was another reason for not getting pregnant. After more doctor visits, it was found that Bryan was fine but not the same outcome for me. We were informed that I did not have very many eggs remaining and chances of normal conception, with the eggs that I did have, would be less than 5%. As you can imagine, the next few days were hard to accept. However, we continued to push on. We got options for fertility treatments but were unable to pursue that path due to the financial responsibility that would be needed for the process and the outcome would still be uncertain.  After several months of soaking in the reality of us not being able have a child of our own, we decided that we would look into what we would need to start adoption. We always had planned to adopt after we had one child of our own.  We just did not know we would be skipping the first part of our plan. We researched several different agencies and found one that we really liked. We contacted the agency and received information. We went through an interview and decided to start the process. We were told during the interview of the cost that would be needed to complete the process, attempted to get a loan for the cost of the adoption, but like all of the previous things we did, we were denied. After picking ourselves up yet again, we realized that one of our many problems is that we were trying to control how we were going to start our family instead of letting God guide our path. That is how we have come to this point. We are asking for your help in our journey. If you feel that God is leading you to support our journey we would be appreciative for any donations but most importantly extremely grateful for your prayers. We are in the early stages of the process and have not yet been matched with a mother but would like to be in a position to proceed when God tells us that it is time. God Bless!
