Cassie's Surgery/Medical/Expenses

HI! I am Cassandra's Mom, Cindy! We, her family, have started this Go Fund Me page to help with Surgery Costs/Health Expenses/Medical Bills.
Cassie is a former International/National Team Gymnast (about 6 years!) and was on the National Tops Team for about 5-6 years prior to that! She spent most of her young life competing in Gymnastics (since she was 4 1/2 years old!) Her passion was always to be the best she could be. Regardless of her pain, she just kept going. When she made the National Team, she worked through many injuries to help her team win gold medals in many countries (Belgium, Italy, France, United States, etc) You can find several videos on you tube: "Cassie Whitcomb"...
As a result of her dream to be on the Olympic Team in 2012, she worked through much pain until she could no longer take it and had to retire from elite gymnastics.
Out of fear, she opted out of the surgery, waiting until the success rate for this surgery was raised. After several years of pain, she decided to have the much needed surgery to correct her spinal injuries she succumbed to as a result of working so hard for her dream! The costs of the double spinal fusion surgery is not as she expected for a young woman trying to get a start in life.
She has so many beloved fans, friends and family that still follow her progress and wish her the best. She has had the surgery February 1, 2016 in California and made it through the 6 1/2 hour ordeal like a champ. We ask that those of you who wish to send your love, thoughts, and well wishes donate to this page instead of sending cards, flowers, etc. The funds gathered will go directly to Cassie (she is the only person allowed to access the funds) in order for her to pay hospital bills, medical bills, and surgery and all other expenses. We have set the amount on an estimated number and will adjust it once the bills start coming in! She has already made a downpayment to the hospital so we will expect the bills to start rolling in after a week or so!
Cassie will receive a list of all of those who have donated and will be sure to send a note of thanks to you! She will be in the hospital for a few days and then will start her at home recovery. Due to the long recovery process, she will also be out of work so some funds gathered may go to helping her pay the mounting bills she will have from not being able to work!
