Medical Bills

Carter Ray passed away in June of 2013 at just 3 years old. He was and will always be the light of my life. January 2010- I gave birth to what was expected to be a healthy rather large baby boy. Carter was born with a genetic condition called Williams Syndrome (visit www.Williams-syndrome.org for more info) and a very severe heart condition. He was referred to Doernbecher's cardiology team within the first 24 hours of being born. 2 weeks old- first echocardiogram through doernbechers 3 months old- The first of 4 cardiac balloon catheters was done. I'm not going to list every single procedure because no one wants to read all of that but this should paint a picture of what life with Carter consisted of medically. A little background on me. I was in a mentally abusive relationship (anyone that knows me knows that is not something I freely admit to) in which I ended up pregnant. I was the sole provider/caregiver/ advocate for my son. I tried to stay organized and on top of bills but 3 bills slipped through the cracks from 2010, one from birth and 2 for lab work done shortly after Carter was born. I have paid over $20,000 in medical bills by myself over the past 4 years and I never ask for help but I am struggling. I am currently being sued by a collection agency whom I thought I had paid off in 2011. I have had no contact from them or with them since June of 2011. I was served court papers about a month ago saying I owed a little over $4000 and payment was expected in full immediately. I buried my son a year ago. I've only been back to work since October. I have blown through my life savings and I am asking for help getting this taken care of so that I can try to move forward in life, I've already paid court fees for mediation and I have tried working with the collections people. As a last resort I am asking you for help...anything helps at this point! My son was my world he taught me so much about unconditional love and sacrifice. As much as I miss him I just want to move to the next stage in life but I can't do that until I finish paying my debts in his name. From the bottom of my heart I sincerely thank you for any help you can give in getting me out of medical debt hopefully once and for all.
