Expenses for Carolina Cano's Family

Carolina Cano was killed on March 24 while on a run in Jersey City's Lincoln Park. As her friends, family, and community mourn this senseless loss, please come together to support her final expenses and lessen the burden for her family.
The most immediate need is to raise travel expenses for members of Carolina's family to travel here to handle final arrangements. Working with her church, who is communicating with her family, we believe $1,500 will cover these expenses - we will then update the goal based on information on funeral costs.
How will these funds be tracked?
Because GoFundMe does not operate in Peru, the funds will be transferred to the account of the US.-based organizer, who will then wire transfer funds to Carolina's family. In the interest of transparency, we will post screenshots/receipts of these wire transfers so that you can feel confident the money has gotten to her family. We have been in touch with both Carolina's church and the Hudson County Office of Victim/Witness Advocacy, who are in touch with her family in Peru. Please reach out with any other questions.
