Hi, my name is Domonique Magdaleno. I am actually creating this page for my grandmother, Carole Weldon. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. To me - sorry for being insensitive - the story how we went to the hospital was hilarious but the somewhat inevitable news we got was tragic. Coincidentally it happened on Valentine's Day of 2012. In my old house you entered through the door and you were essentially on a platform about half a foot higher than the rest of the ground. And my sister, Tirany, had a bunch of toys all over the floor and such. My grandma was coming down off of that ledge to head to the living room and ended up slipping on one of the toys on the floor whilst stepping down and rolled her ankle. We ended up taking her to the hospital to make sure that nothing was wrong. Fortunately her ankle was ok but we of course got other news. I believe that they told her something looked weird and needed her to come back for further testing. Skip ahead to when we got the results and that is when we found out that she had cancer.
It's tough on her and you can easily tell. Cancer really takes a toll. It also doesn't help that she is a smoker. She hasn't physically been the same since she found out and now it is only getting worse. Simple tasks leave her near breathless, she sleeps most of the day, and she has a lot of trouble finding food that her body can handle.
I'm sure that a lot of you know that medical bills are far from cheap. The money that I am asking for is all for my grandmother's well-being. It will all be going to her benifit. Most, and if not all, of the donations will be going to medications and any other type of medical need.
The biggest reason why we need donations is the fact that my mother, who is the head of the household, no longer has a job. Because of that my grandmother has to turnover most of her disability money to pay for household bills which makes it a lot harder to pay for medication.
