Carole's MariposaFire Recovery Fund

Our sister Carole is a teacher.  As you know, teachers aren't well paid, so she has struggled with California housing for a long time.  Recently, after moving to the Central Valley and scrimping and saving, she qualified to buy a home for herself and her son Max.  She found a lovely home on 7 acres near Mariposa, a dream come true! They and their cat Frankie moved into their new home on July 1.

Less than three weeks later, the entire property burned  to the ground.  THEY HAVE LOST EVERYTHING!!  
Carole found out about the evacuation while she was in Merced at school, without even being able to go back home to gather a few things.  Everything is gone.  Fortunately, she, Max and Frankie are safe and sound.

Carole needs help to recover: she has already missed a week of work and needs to be able to take her time getting back to work.  She will still need to pay the mortgage, but she doesn't even have a change of clothes at this point.  Although her insurance will help with the rebuilding, she needs some emergency funds right now so she can keep paying the bills.

 We made an initial estimate of $5,000, but have raised it to $7,500 to keep it going, knowing it will help a little more!
