Help Carlos Fight Metastatic Cancer

Donation protected

Our family is a cancer family, with our family member Carlos Chavez battling Metastatic Colon Cancer. We are fighting through chemo as we speak, and all the costs that arise out of that battle. Any money raised that isn't spent on our own colon cancer bills will be put aside for future health care costs for Carlos as he fights.

Carlos is a hard working family man who is a Christian living by faith and through his faith during this battle. Carlos hopes to allow god to speak to others through his battle and courage in what he faces. Carlos has focused on changing his diet, his exercise habits, and battles anxiety as well. His doctor is optimistic we can find a cure despite his cancer returning, but the fight requires courage, money, and love. Carlos wants to return to good health, to get back to work, to live life and enjoy it.

Our family consists of Carlos Chavez, 45 years old, diagnosed with colon cancer in June of 2012. Sarah Chavez, his wife, working in a challenging job (but she loves it) while supporting her husband and daughter through this situation. Amber Chavez, his daughter, 19 years old and being so brave in all this. We hope to continue providing her with the same quality of life she had before the diagnosis caught us blind sided. The colon cancer unexpectedly and shockingly returned on October 31, 2017 - or at least that was the day we found out it was in his brain and liver.

Donate what you can afford and what god guides you to donate, we ask for no more than that. Know that this isn't a frivolous fundraiser, we genuinely need the help and will use it for supporting Carlos in his battle.

Our priorities:

1. Pay existing and projected medical bills related to Carlos's fight against colon and thyroid cancer.

2. Buy thermal clothing due to his having extreme sensitivity to cold as a side effect of chemo, particularly with winter coming

3. Set money aside for expected out of pocket in 2019

4. Help pay for our daughter's college tuition and related bills.
