On Thursday, December 11, 2014, Kirsten (age 11) suffered a seizure at school. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. When it was established just how complicated things were, WVU Children's Hospital in Morgantown, WV sent a pediatric intensive care team to transport her to their hospital.

It was determined that Kirsten has a Cavernoma Angioma (brain bleed) accompanied by epilepsy. On February 12th 2016 she suffered from another seizure and it was determined the only option now is to have brain surgery.

Kirsten is now a patient at Pittsburgh Children's Hospital and Beth has already missed quite a bit of work while Kirsten has been fighting mini seizures on a daily basis and taking her to appointments. She will have multiple trips in the coming months to Children's Hospital along with a 10 day stay within the next month. Then she will have brain surgery in the beginning of June. Kirsten will be at Children's Hospital for a minimum of 1 1/2 months for surgery and recovery.

Her Mom, Beth started a new job about 4 months ago and does not have any vacation or medical leave. She is a single mom to three precious kids and wants to be by her daughter's side as much as possible. It is every parents nightmare to face a catastrophic illness with one of their children and to worry about how the bills are going to get paid, only adds to the overwhelming stress.
