Linda Vincent's Circle of Care

A few of weeks ago, Linda Vincent’s life changed in the ‘blink of an eye’ at her son’s 7th birthday party.

She arrived at his car race track-theme party early, but when the organizers came to her for direction, no one could understand what she wanted them to do – the stroke had already started working its damage. Linda knew that something was very wrong, but unable to speak she went into a back room and waited until the rest of the family arrived. In retrospect, the hero of the day was Linda’s teenage daughter, who arrived with the first group of party-goers and immediately realized that something was terribly wrong. She was the vital force in quickly getting Linda to the medical care she needed and quite possibly saved her mother’s life.

At the walk-in clinic, the on-call neurologist said Linda needed immediate emergency hospitalization. Within hours after her admittance into the hospital she was being prepped for surgery to reduce the swelling and pressure of blood leaking to her brain. Linda had suffered from a hemorrhagic stroke. The doctors discovered an intracranial hemorrhage and the symptoms of this type of stroke can include arm or leg weakness/paralysis, or difficulty with speech, vision or memory. The day after surgery, Linda was in and out of consciousness and the prognosis was still undetermined – there was no movement on one side of her body and she had not yet regained the ability to speak. However, the recovery rate for this type of stroke is very strong but it is with gratitude that we recognize your prayers for Linda during this time.

Fast-forward two weeks: Linda has had remarkable progress. She is a fighter and our inspiration! The road to complete recovery is as yet unknown, but after a little less than two weeks in the hospital and a rehabilitative facility (to relearn some of the lost skills necessary for independent living) she is finally at home again and doing fabulous. All of us have visited Linda, both at her home and in rehab, and have seen amazing improvements in her recovery. Currently, Linda is working with a speech therapist and it is expected that she will regain every aspect of her formal life in the near future.

Linda's Circle of Care
Linda is surrounded by her loving family and her friends, but is struggling to face what may have been one of the biggest challenge in her life. During her recovery period, we would like to see her get healthy without worrying about the mounting medical bills. Fortunately, Linda has health insurance through her job at a nonprofit organization, but without a doubt it will only cover a limited part of what she needs and not inclusive of any of the extra’s that could be very beneficial to her road to recovery.

This is where we ask for your help – please donate whatever you can – it doesn’t matter how much or how little – it just comes down to the power of what so many of us TOGETHER can do to help in Linda’s recuperation. As her friends, we set up this GoFundMe page so that she will encounter perhaps one less worry and setback as she struggles to get back on her feet and beyond. If you can’t donate financially, please join us in prayer, post an encouraging message to Linda or, share this message with your friends including a personal message to them about Linda’s impact on your life.

On behalf of Linda and her children, we thank you so very much.

Also, with gratefulness and appreciation of your support we thank you as Linda’s friend’s,
Maureen, Dennis, Kathie, Kae, Iris

Having Linda as a dear and true friend makes me realize I must have done something wonderful in this world to have been put in her path and entered her humongous heart!  She is some kind of wonderful and I am so proud and grateful for not only her love and friendship, but the very secure knowing that she will be in my corner, and mine in hers for all of our days.  Thanking God for sparing such a love!

My dear friend, Linda, is one of the most genuine and kind, caring and thoughtful person that I have ever known. She is always the first to offer help for anyone in need, lends a listening ear and is always more interested in how others are doing. She never asks for anything for herself and always says she is ok, even when we know she is not. Her children are her world and are the essence of what matters to her. She brings sunshine and smiles to all her know her. I am blessed to be her friend.

Linda and I have known each other for almost a decade and within that time she has always been a bright force in my life: I love her humor and all laughter we have shared. Linda has a smile and hug for everyone. She touches people’s heart. She makes things happen. She changes lives. Linda is a gift to me and to so many people that have been impacted by her work and have had the blessing to be a part her life.

I have been blessed to be working with Linda for the last four years. During this time, I have seen an unbelievable person and amazing human being. She is a giver, a caring person, and an unconditional friend. I have witnessed Linda going above and beyond to help others, not only professionally, but personally. I have seen her crying when she cannot help someone and laughing when she has the opportunity to make someone’s life better.
