With your help we can achieve a long awaited Canadian Coptic Dream

We acquired 92 acres property in the beautiful nature of Paisley, Ontario with lush greenery, mature trees and with trails and serene landscape overlooking the rivers. There is an existing building. To some this is a dream, but to us the dream is still outstanding as we wish to establish the first Canadian Coptic Orthodox Convent. The location in this magnificent nature and solitude will be their home.
The nuns dedicate their lives to prayer, worship and service, in utmost self-denial. What we need is to have a chapel for their daily worship, liturgies for the community, praises and spiritual meetings. This will benefit families, youth. Most importantly the females who are seeking life of monasticism or consecration, youth spiritual growth retreats, ladies worship groups, mother and daughter time of bonding. The practice of quiet time for self-searching, spiritual growth and a sanctuary from the busy large city life.

The nuns lead by example and as well by teaching and sharing. They will introduce to many Canadian Copts the life in a convent and a lot of the culture and heritage the preservation of our praises and Coptic music which they bring with them from Egypt.

The nuns labor in service both to keep their time fruitful and in order to generate some income to sustain this convent and those who they service. Once again your donation is needed to establish this workshop with sewing and embroidery machines and all the related equipment. The shop will produce church vestment for clergy, deacons, altar, and other similar items like scarves, linen and towels. This is an important part in the monastic life not just for the nuns but for those who are in training or consecrated as well as the lay females who spend time in this spiritual setting.
The shop will include a section for painting icons to be available in the gift shop to bless our homes.
With your generous donation we can have a chapel and workshop to fulfill these valuable needs, and the Canadian Coptic dream for the first Coptic Orthodox Convent in the Name of St. Mary, St. George and St. Philopateer.
