Hello,
My name is Shelisa Jones. I have been a Chicago Police Officer for 22 years. As such, I have seen and experienced a lot. I hold a Masters in Social Service Administration and a Masters of Divinity. So, I know firsthand that man-made efforts are not going to solve the entire crisis here in Chicago, nationally nor worldwide. For scripture says in Ephesians 6:12-13, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places. “ If man could do it, then it would have already been done. In Chicago, a person is shot every 2:19 (hr. /min) and a person is murdered every13:44 (hr. /min).
With all the terrorist acts around the world to include mass shootings, planes disappearing, senseless violence, and broken educational systems, we must bridge the gap between law enforcement and the communities they serve. We need to work on the destruction of families and pray for victims of natural and man-made disasters, and pray for our military and all first responders, the poor, widowed, elderly and all of Jerusalem.
The mission is to host a worldwide interfaith prayer vigil involving several different faith leaders. The objective is to bring a million people together to embrace oneness before God at a venue that holds adequate seating. It is at Soldier Fields that we will cry out, petition and invite God to restore hope, peace, healing and deliverance in all areas our lives.
God says we should pray without giving Him any rest until God restores our peace, hope, and love for one another, Isaiah 62:7. We all need to come together under God to worship, fast and pray to show that we still need and trust that God is still in control. The Scripture says in Isaiah 66:18, 23, "I will gather all nations and tongues and they shall come and see my glory. And, it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, Saith the Lord."
On, October 10, 2016 at Soldier Field, 1410 Museum Campus Dr, Chicago, Il 60605, I'm asking that we all come out and cry out to GOD embracing unity to pray for the nations on topics that are dear to our heart. The objective is to always show concern for the fellow man. We are our brother’s keepers. Again, a goal is to have unity among people to include faith and non-faith believers. The goal is for God to restore our peace, love, unification and harmony and to heal our lands.
Our challenge continues as we get closer to the Worldwide Interfaith Prayer Vigil. In order for the event to take place, we need to remain diligent and focused on our goal. We have met our initial goal of $50,000 as a deposit to secure Soldier Field for October 10, 2016. We need to raise an additional $70,000.00 to cover the total expenses for the event. It will be only through your gifts and prayers that we can all come together in oneness to experience the movement of God. Although this is very short notice, I know with God’s Grace, and Mercy everything is possible. I ask that you use the Go Fund Me link, which provides several payment options to make your donations and we will see you at Soldier Field on October 10th.
