Spock's Second Chance Rescue with Chihuahua Rescue and Transport.  Please help him live long and prosper now!

Little Spock was living at a home in San Antonio, Texas that did not care much for his welfare.  He has been seen roaming the streets of south San Antonio for a few years now according to others in the area.  Although he weighs in at 12 pounds, one-third of his weight was a large tumor growing from his jaw.

Six months ago Spock was rescued from the street by a good samaritan. The good sam figured out who Spock belonged to and went to the home to return him.   His neglectful owner told the good sam that he refused to seek medical treatment for Spock.  Unfortunately, the good sam never followed up with animal care services to insure that Spock's "owner" complied with the law against animal abuse and neglect.  Instead Spock was allowed to continue walking off from the property whenever he pleased looking for food.

Another good sam tracked down Spock's owner again after he was seen on the street agan and this time convinced him that Spock's condition was serious and needed urgent medical attention and to surrender him to her.

Texas Chihuahua Rescue, Inc. (TCR), a tremendous 501 (c)(3) non-profit group, then stepped up to take the little guy into their rescue for all his medical needs, rehab and to find him a loving home.  Now Spock has a real chance at a normal happy life since he has been removed from the cruel and inhumane treatment he has seen in his life of three years.

Since his rescue this week he has undergone an invasive surgery to remove this enormous tumor (and his who-who-dillies) and a treatment plan to get all his urgent medical needs met.

He will remain under vet care for several days as the tumor removal was very invasive and post-op drainage tubes, etc., are necessary. The tumor was sent to pathology for testing.  It's possible it  could be lymphoma cancer.

Please help Spock with the care he needs now that he is with Catherine Gorton & the TCR rescue group, through rehabilitation and then into a forever home.   No donation is too small, even a few dollars will make a difference.  All donations are tax deductible.

If you would prefer donate by check you can mail a check payable to TCR (Texas Chihuahua Rescue) to 13855 Little Leaf, San Antonio, TX 78247.

All donation funds will be used towards their intended purpose of all needs to be met for Spock.  If any donations collected exceed his specific needs your donation will be applied to the TCR general fund, which includes shelter, food, medicine, vet care, and surgeries for rescued dogs in need.
