<div><strong>We are the COP Bike Ride! </strong>
</div>
<div>A giant bike relay, from the COP29 (Azerbadjan) to the COP30 (Brazil). An international citizens initiative to stress the relevance and potential of cycling as a powerful means to reduce transport related CO2 emissions.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What are we doing?</strong>
</div>
<div>We are giving a voice to all cyclists or want to be cyclists, in order to give everyone safer infrastructures.
</div>
<div>- In our bags we carry ten concrete proposals, ready to be implemented.
</div>
<div>- On our way from Belém to Antalya, we will meet dozens of elected representatives to choose 3 actions to promote cycling.
</div>
<div>✍️ They will sign an engagement letter that will be brought to the representatives at the COP30, whom we will ask to do the same.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why did we choose cycling ? </strong>
</div>
<div>24% of the worldwide carbon footprint is from transport ✈ (Source: AIE, 2021).
</div>
<div>75% of travels in cities are below 3km and 42% of deliveries could be done in cargo bike.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>➡️ The opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint through biking are huge !
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Other biking benefits ✨ :</strong>
</div>
<div>➡️ <strong>Health</strong> : -10% risk of cardiovascular disease, -30% risk for type 2 diabetes, -30% risk of death by cancer (WHO).
</div>
<div>➡️ <strong>Social cost</strong> : Cities could save up to €400 billion/year by adopting a cycle network like Copenhagen (DeutschlandFunk Nova).
</div>
<div>➡️ <strong>Productivity</strong> : Cyclists have up to 12% lower risk of sick leave, with 4.5 fewer days absent per year (European Commission).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why do we need your help ? </strong>
</div>
<div>To reach COP30 in Brazil from COP29 in Azerbadjan, we need to cross the Atlantic. Unlike cycling, this part comes with essential costs beyond what can reasonably be expected from an individual person to contribute:
</div>
<div>• Sailing boat charter &amp; crew contribution ⛵️
</div>
<div>• Harbour costs &amp; maintenance
</div>
<div>• Food &amp; supplies at sea
</div>
<div>• Safety equipment &amp; insurance ⚓
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>✅ Before receiving the banner for the crossing of the Atlantic, European cyclists will get from COP29 overland and will need a contribution to the currently relatively expensive accommodation in Belém!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Finally, there are many other (non-personal) expenses to enhance the project as a whole, such as on the documentary we are producing that need to meet certain quality standards in order to be screened to a wider audience and have a bigger impact.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>➡️ Our goal : raise up to <strong>18,500€</strong> ⬅️
</div>
<div>So we can secure the power of this initiative: have <strong>multiple cyclists</strong> sailing and cycling to deliver the voices of all cyclists at COP30.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What your support achieves </strong>
</div>
<div>• Enable us to cross the Atlantic ocean and have accommodation in Antalya ⛵• Elevate our call for greener transport • Fight climate change • Bonus : realise the world’s largest cycling relay !
</div>

<div>Whether €5 , €10´, or €100 - everything counts!
</div>
<div>Your donation powers this gigantic citizens journey to deliver the message on the importance of cycling and active travel in Belém.
</div>
<div>Together, we can ride and sail toward a future where Earth is protected.
</div>
