Nature Playground in Our Woods

Remember when you used to play in the woods, climb trees and make mud pies?  Remember the feeling you had when you surprised yourself by being able to reach the next branch,  or holding a slimy worm?  Is there a better way to spend the summer?!

At Camp Garrett we love spending time in our woods exploring, playing, swinging and climbing, all while under the supervision of our amazing staff.  As a result, our children gain confidence in themselves and build lifelong relationships with each other and the outdoors.

The Garrett Williamson woods, home to Camp Garrett, has undergone significant changes with the loss of many trees this winter.  These trees were our playground and now we need to rebuild.  For the 2018 camp season, we want to provide our campers with an engaging and interactive space full of swings, climbers, hammocks and even a mud kitchen! Our kids deserve a place where they can discover new abilities, build confidence, and let their imaginations run wild.

All funds raised will go towards the purchase and installation of natural playground elements in the Garrett Williamson woods.  Over 250 campers, 175 children in Garrett's Way Child Care Center and more than 150 Garrett Williamson community members have access to the woods and will benefit from this installation.  

Camp Garrett is located in Newtown Square, PA on 240 beautiful acres. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and emphasizes health and wellness, collaboration and respect for others and the outdoors.  We believe that each child should have the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential, regardless of financial means.  In fact, about half of our campers receive a full or partial scholarship to attend.   Any extra money raised will be reinvested in Garrett Williamson's robust scholarship program.
