Ryan Burda NEEDS a Wheelchair
Donation protected
My name is Ryan Burda. I live in Madison, WI and I was admitted to the University of Wisconsin hospital on 10/27/2014. I had emergency surgery to remove a bowling ball size of Gangrene...I was in the ICU and intubated for a month and after another 4 weeks of acute care I was then transfered to a wound care hospital near Milwaukee for 2 months, then back to UW for acute inpatient PT rehab....I had lost all strength and muscle due to being horizontal in a hospital bed for so many months. And then finally to where I am now a nursing home with a floor dedicated to rehab...I have been here almost 5 months. I practice walking with a walker everyday...anything longer than 20 feet I need someone to follow behind me with a wheelchair because I still cannot stand long enough and walk greater distances without taking a break.
Here is the link for the fundraiser I started online to raise enough money for me to get a heavy duty Bariatric Wheelchair & Walker and get home safely. My pay source Medicaid is ending and will not approve any equipment like a walker and a wheelchair. If you are able to make a donation and if you feel comfortable passing this around to friends or anyone you think might be able to help...I would be so very grateful, I'm trying to raise $3000-$3500 over the next few days because it will take approx. 2 weeks to have the wheelchair delivered after I place the order...and I'm being discharged on 7/31, that is where the urgency is coming from. Thank you so much!
