Mission Trip to build house in Rosarita

My family has gathered a team of 10 people to go to Rosarita, Mexico in June to build a home for a family in need. We are coordinating efforts through a non-profit organization, Yugo Ministries (www.yugo.org), who partners with a local church to find the families. We need to fundraise $10,000 as a team to pay for the house materials and our dorm-style food/lodging for the week we are there. When Chuck and I asked our kids what they wanted to do to "give-back', they both said they wanted to do a house construction mission-project more than anything. They said that being able to give someone a home would be a great gift. Right about that time, a good friend of mine, Krissy Rank, told me about her friend who ran this outreach program in Mexico... hence, the stars aligned. Knowing the program leader in the Rosarita facility through a respected friend gave me the courage to go for it, even though we are a team built up primarily of women and children. I have been lagging on fund-raising using the excuse that I've been too busy. But, last week, I was diagnosed with melanoma in-situ (Stage 0-1 cancer) on my face. With some gnarly looking surgery, I'm going to be fine. But, it was all the reminder that I needed in that life is short and can be taken at any moment. I feel so blessed for the love, family, friendships, health and financial stability that I do have, and I don't want to miss the opportunity to pay it forward. Please consider donating to this cause.
