A miracle is needed:
My nephew Bryson Smith, son of Eddie and Sherri Smith was recently in a terrible accident.
Bryson suffered a Spinal Cord Injury SCI in an ATV accident in Mexico a couple weeks ago. He broke vertebrae T8 & T9 and had a spinal fusion surgery from T7-T12. He currently is an incomplete paraplegic. Incomplete meaning his brain can still send signals below the site of injury. Paraplegic means unable to move legs and feet. He can feel some sensory in his legs and feet which classifies him as an incomplete.
Bryson's parents will need a special handicapped vehicle to take Bryson home from the hospital. They are also looking to move to a single story home for accessibility and modifications their current home doesn't have. As well as medical equipment - wheelchair, a hospital bed, a waffle mattress, bathroom assisting medical equipment & supplies, and many other things. Health insurance only covers what's covered on their plan after deductibles, co-insurance and out of pocket maximum is met. Anything that insurance does not cover after that will have to be paid out of pocket
Bryson will be moved to the Barrow rehab facility sometime this week to receive OT and PT. We have not received information on how long he will be staying at the rehab facility yet.
