Miller Brothers Cancer Defying Fund

Bruce and Michael are brothers who are currently fighting lung cancer. They are both New Hampshire natives retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard - Bruce was a civilian transportation manager and Mike served as a Navy submariner. Today, they are the odd couple who enjoy fishing together regularly (like Grumpy Old Men) and fixing up motorcycles. Bruce works part-time delivering auto parts and enjoys annoying/spending time with his three daughters. Mike is an AA sponsor and happily helps out those in need on a regular basis and spends time with his son.

The facts:

Bruce (64) was diagnosed with inoperable small cell lung cancer (Stage-3) in September and will be undergoing chemotherapy and radiation followed by brain radiation to prevent the cancer from spreading to his brain. Michael (70) has been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (Stage-1) and had ⅓ of his right lung removed in September. He will be undergoing chemotherapy in October as well. There is a good chance that they will both be receiving chemo at the same time in the same hospital.

It isn't easy to realize and accept the harsh reality that we will need financial help, but we are humbly requesting donations to help ease their burden. Both Bruce and Mike are single retired older dudes and while our family is doing everything we possibly can to help, it’s a huge undertaking. Every dollar will help pay for their medical deductibles, medications, treatments not covered by insurance, and any other unexpected expenses that come up. It may even be necessary for basic everyday needs.

We are all grateful for our family and friends who are praying for us, offering help with anything and everything, and who are supporting Bruce and Mike’s cancer battle. We will never be able to adequately express how much it means to have your support. Thank you!
