Benefit for Brooklynn's Heart

Brooklynn was born with a critical congenital heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus.  Without immediate surgery, she would have faced heart failure and death.  She survived open heart surgery at just 2 weeks old, and just a little over 5 lbs.  Her chest was left open for 3 days, and she endured CPR the first night after surgery.  While in most ways, she is a normal girl, she still has many surgeries ahead of her.  Brooklynn underwent her 2nd heart procedure, a catheterization, on November 20, 2012.  The doctors found that she needed another open heart surgery.  On March 5th, 2013, Brooklynn underwent another open heart surgery.  It was very successful, and the family is hoping for several more years without surgical intervention.  She will need specialized care, and will eventually undergo more operations.  This fund is being used to help pay the high cost of medical care for Brooklynn.
