Cambodia Medical Mission 2019

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” -Mahatma Gandhi

Once I began my undergrad, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. Who the heck do I want to be?! Vet? Radiologist? Dentist? I changed my mind 3 or 4 times and now, finally, I know without a doubt that I am truly meant to be a Nurse.

I was lucky enough to be accepted into an internship to help wild animals when I decided to go to Zimbabwe to be a part of their Anti-Poaching unit. I am busy with volunteer work in the NICU at a local hospital. I give my time and attention to children for babysitting, and cats/dogs for pet sitting.

I will be GRADUATING from my rigorous nursing program in just 3 months!!! ::jazz hands:: For graduation, I’d love nothing more than to make a difference, no matter how small. That’s why I made this GoFundMe... to aid me in being able to travel to Cambodia for a Medical Mission THIS JANUARY! I will be working alongside a team of doctors, nurses and other volunteers who will be providing medical assistance to those in need. We will be seeing 250-500 patients per day at our clinic. We will each come with 2 suitcases - one with personal belongings and the other full of medicine. Some days we will be traveling a couple of hours on boat to give medical care to a community of people that live on a river.

Jordan International Aid's Website - Take a look!!

I have been given this amazing opportunity to be a part of Jordan International Aid, but I have one problem: as a full-time student, it is almost impossible for me to pay for this on my own with what I make from side jobs. Any help AT ALL is appreciated. Once I am a nurse I will continue to go on these trips but with the money that I make myself. Until then, I need to swallow my pride and ask for help. I know that this trip will make me a better nurse than I could ever imagine. A nurse who is well-rounded, with experiences outside of her comfort zone. One who can find it in her heart to hold no judgments. A nurse that actually sees the patient, not their illness. I hope that you might find it in your heart to help me reach my goal and become a great nurse... Thank you!

A million thanks to those who donate and also to those who keep me in their prayers for a successful journey to Cambodia!!
