Help Brittany Fight Like a Girl

Donation protected
Brittany Wunderle DeJarnatt was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 1st, 2014- almost 5 years to the date that her extraordinary mother lost her battle with the same horrible disease.

The day she received the diagnosis was the day she decided she was going to beat it.  And after rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, persistence and courage, she did.

Then, in March of 2016, Brittany was diagnosed with uterine cancer.  This required aggressive chemotherapy treatment and full hysterectomy.  Once again, Brittany met the battle head on with grace, courage and resilience.  She was finally able to leave the cancer in the past when she was given the all clear later that year.

But, in December 2016, Brittany was delivered the crushing news that the sarcoma had aggresively returned.  Brittany responded by marrying her fiance.

Brittany met Ben over 4 years ago while she was living in Los Angeles and he was living in San Diego.  Ben moved to Santa Cruz to attend UC Santa Cruz and Brittany joined him soon after.  Brittany told her sister, Katie, the night after meeting Ben, "I'm going to marry this man."  And, on December 6th, 2016, she did.

Brittany and Ben got married at Stanford Medical Center with the generous help from the staff.  A small group of family and friends were able to attend.  Soon after the ceremony, Brittany started chemotherapy treatment again with her endlessly supportive husband by her side.

After being told she had a baseball sized mass that required chemotherapy to shrink, Brittany returned to Ohio, her original home, on December 17th, 2016.  She will continue to receive treatment at The Cleveland Clinic.  She is currently staying with family in Kent, Ohio where she is able to be surrounded by family and friends.

Brittany is a bonafide fighter.  Her positivity and resilience are truly inspiring.

Brittany is certain to encounter many unexpected financial burdens throughout her battle.  Many treatments and medical needs will not be fully covered by insurance.   Brittany is unable to work and Ben had to hit pause on graduate school which leaves little income during a time they need it most.

If you know Brittany, then she has undoubtedly made you smile.

Now it's our turn to make Brittany smile.  Please show your support in what will certainly be a knock out battle against cancer.
