Donation protected
Our daughter Ashanti M. Billie, was reported missing under questionable circumstances on Monday, September 18, 2017 from a military installation in Norfolk, VA. She was last seen when she entered the base ( her id was scanned by gate guard). We were notified by the FBI on Saturday, September 30, 2017 that her body had been located in Charlotte, NC.
Ashanti was a 2016 High School graduate of Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She had just moved to Virginia Beach to attend the Art Institute of Virginia Beach and worked on the naval base. She was last seen when she went onto Norfolk base for work that morning.
This has been a most difficult time for our family as we desperately searched for our daughter.
In honor of our daughter we have set up The Ashanti Foundation. With this organization we will be offering one scholarship each year to a student from her high school to attend the Art Institute at Virginia Beach and study culinary arts. Our plan is to offer this scholarship beginning for the fall term of 2018. The donations received are to be used to assist the family with burial expenses as well as the scholarship.
