Help Bring Mari Home

Hi- 

Our dear friend Mari Plaza Munet needs our help.  

A few years ago, Mari took a huge leap of faith and returned to her native Puerto Rico to make a go at being an artist full time.  She has done many wonderful things while she has been there, but the simple fact is that the recent devastation in Puerto Rico has all but destroyed her hope of continuing on.  She has been selflessly sharing what little she has with her neighbors, stretching limited food and water to make it last.  She is an amazing spirit, and is doing all she can to keep a positive attitude, but she wants to come "home" to Boulder, Colorado.  

Sarah Annecone, Katy Fleming and I all worked with Mari over 20 years ago at the Boulder County AIDS Project, and we are joining forces to raise money to help her make this move. 

Those of you who know Mari know what a blessing she is, and we hope you will help us in this effort.  If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign with anyone you think might like to support a refugee fleeing from the devastation in Puerto Rico.

The wish list included here shows what expenses we are hoping to help with.  Please feel free to chip in any amount to any item.  It will all be pooled to help meet expenses as they arise.

We have included an item to help find a reliable vehicle.  Any leads or help in this area would be appreciated.  For instance, if you know of someone who is considering donating their car to a charitable cause, please send them Mari's way.

Also, perhaps you have a lead on employment for her when she gets back.  She really made a name for herself in human services work, so something along those lines would be great, but she also hopes to find a job that will allow her to continue to use her art in service to others. 

In her own words, she would like to:

- Create beautiful inner spaces in homes, by painting walls in fengshui or what I call infuse them with the right vibrational color hues- ‘conscious homes decor’.

- Create accented murals with specific good vibes

- Teach mandala classes

- Do mandala/geometric gardens to enhance vibes 

- Teach meditation and guided visualization to enhanced inner peace, love- By donation or with exchanges

- Sing songs with elders, feed them with good food, clean spaces, read books, meditate with, offer company, plant gardens with, laugh with, do fun stuff with elders

- Create and teach educational programs to create awareness or to inspire people, or to enhance the inner self with practices that will minimize low inner vibes


Please helps us help this beautiful, vibrant, soulful sister.  She deserves some peace and luck.
