Brighter Together is an organization that simply says “Thank you Canada”. The Brighter Together Initative provides a warm channel for those who now call Canada their home. Whether you are a newcomer or third generation Canadian, Brighter Together allows the opportunity to give back to this wonderful country of ours. Our commitment is to provide service and funding to solve problems right here in Canada. Together, we will identify the problem, inspire a solution, and raise the funds to execute a resolution for lasting and meaningful change.
Project #1: Let's bring the babies home!
Nelle’s, a women’s shelter in Toronto’s east end, faces an influx of toddlers and newborns following the shutdown Red Door, a nearby shelter currently undergoing renovations.
In the last year, Nellie’s Shelter which has historically housed women is taking in unprecedented numbers of toddlers and expected mothers to be. Instead of women, Nellie’s is faced with overflowing with 14 toddlers, 4 infants, and other children various ages. Space is limited, supply is low and budget is spread thin to accommodate the demand to accommodate. Instead of food and counselling, the shelter is faced with decisions to spend money on diapers, formula and strollers. They are also burdened with problems that hinder their main focus of providing food, shelter and care to woman and children in need.

BRIGHTER TOGETHER IS ASKING FOR YOUR HELP!
THE PROBLEM:
DID YOU KNOW that by law, hospitals do not allow new mothers to take their newborns without a stroller and removable car seat carrier for the taxi.
The need is most urgent for NEW Strollers. There is a never ending request for new born carriers and strollers. So you may be wondering can’t I just donate my stroller and why does it have to be new? Unfortunately, the answer is LIABILITY. If anything should happen, Nellie's Shelter would be responsible.
We also have to look at the BIGGER problem which is space. Where will Nellie’s store the stroller if we are able to raise funds for Nellie’s?
In the hallways where there are fire and safety hazards? Store outside only to be stolen?
SOLUTION:
Let’s build shed in the backyard and provide some much needed strollers!
An outdoor shed and storage space for the backyard that will house the strollers, carriers, and other items that are over taking their limited living space.
Help us reach our ultimate goal and build a storage space for Nellie housing needs.
THE COST:
1. The proejected shed total cost $1000.00
2. For the installation and construction also includes foundation work $2500.00
3. Strollers with removable carriers $200 x 2= $400
We are raising a total of $3900.00 but raised the overall goal to $4500. Any unused funds will be donated directly to Nellie's.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?

An added perk:) Brighter Together will keep you posted on the developments and share the results of the the solutions that we, TOGETHER were able to solve. In order to qualify for updates you must do one or more of the following:
1. Donate $50.00 or more
2. Donate less than $50.00 but share GoFundMe on Facebook and like the page, Brighter Together.
Any financial donations over $20.00 will receive a tax deduction receipt from Nellie's.
