Brice Looper Memorial Fund

Brice Looper, loving husband of 41 years, father of two, grandfather of three, brother, and friend to many, passed away on January 31, 2013 at 2:15 pm. 

Our family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Brice Looper Memorial Fund where they will be utilized to help offset the expenses associated with dad's illness, treatment, and death.  Here, you can also pay your respects and share your thoughts, well-wishes, and support with dad and our family.  We are also in the process of making arrangements and once we have finalized plans, his Memorial Fund page will be updated with the details. 

As many of you know, Dad was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in June 2012.  While he was taken from us much too soon for our liking, we witnessed God transform his life these last several months which was a true blessing.  Dad faced his disease with unwavering strength, determination, humility, and an incredibly positive attitude.  Dad was always there for us throughout our lives and once diagnosed, he, in true form, did all he could to let us know how much he loved us and that he was fighting his battle for us.  We all cherished every moment we had together, and just as he had always been strong for us, it was our turn to be strong for him.  Up until his final moments and as he drew his final breath, Dad was surrounded by his family, and we each held onto him as he passed away. 

Our mother was instrumental in his care as she was his sole caregiver throughout, providing dad with 24-hour care, love, and support.  Although Hospice was recently called in, mom remained vigilant by his side showering him with support, love, and affection; however, this was not without sacrifice.  Dad's illness took a great toll on our family - particularly our mother - emotionally, physically, and financially.  

We miss our dad terribly and feel so lost and sad without him here, but also find peace in knowing he is with the Lord, no longer in pain, and is now watching over us.  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  God Bless.
