Our friend Bri has been seeking answers and treatment options for a brain injury that happened about 8 years ago. It affects her daily life as a full-time momma to 2 babies, and wife to Seth who pastors a small church in Wisconsin. She has located a traumatic brain treatment that will help retrain her brain, but it costs over $5,000, which is beyond their means. She needs our help and support so she can get this treatment and begin to heal.
Here is what Bri has said about her condition and this new treatment:
“In 2011 I was with friends on a trampoline and landed on my head, on the concrete. I am told I lost consciousness for less than a minute, however no one took me to the hospital. Several hours later I began experiencing some bad symptoms and drove myself to the hospital (I shouldn't have been driving). They diagnosed it as a grade 2 concussion. Many years later with gradually worsening symptoms, I was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. I have been to many chiropractors, neurologists, and physical therapists and an optometrist. Nothing has helped and my symptoms are getting worse. I have trouble reading and I can not remember what I read the next day. Dizziness, lack of balance, occasional confusion, and trouble recalling words. No curvature in neck, migraines, and daily headaches and tension. I do not always feel comfortable driving and have trouble staying active with my children. Occasionally my left eye pops out to the side which indicates brain damage to the temporal region and also the occipital region.
I discovered a neurologist at the MN Functional Neurology who has found great success treating people with my condition. They have state of art equipment and resources and patients fly in from all over the country to receive treatment for their traumatic brain injuries. With my symptoms, they are recommending a week long intensive therapy session that unfortunately is not covered by insurance. The cost for this is $5,250”
