Frank's Hospital Bills

About Frank: For those of you that maybe didn't know Frank in person, first of all, I apologize. And second of all, his name isn't really Frank; it's Brian. But our group of friends growing up had two "Brian's" in it, so they both got reassigned names. Some of Frank's best friends didn't even know he was the guy with two first names until years into their friendship or when they met his awesome sister, Angie Frank. Frank literally still has the same friends he grew up with, from elementary school buddies to his core group of friends nicknamed "The Regs" that celebrated nearly every weekend in high school with a bon fire. Last year Frank got sick around the same time a lot of people were getting sick with winter-what-have-you's. This was impossibly annoying for someone like Frank, because it meant he couldn't work, work out, or work on his car as much he'd like to (awesome powder blue Nova, for those wondering). It also meant he didn't get to see his friends as much, which was especially strange for him. I think that's why this summer everyone started feeling like Frank was really getting better -- because after an initial stay at UW's Medical Center where they couldn't exactly put their finger on what was wrong and decided to opt for a conservative treatment plan, Frank was back to his usual self and we all saw him all summer long. I can't count how many people are grateful for that --- but it includes those girls at Coulon Beach who were checking him out after he bounced back into shape in a mere 5 weeks. Unfortunately, there's obviously more to this story or we wouldn't be on a page like this. We can only be thankful that Brian was able to go peacefully, and pray that they'll be able to get some answers from this so that another young, fit, healthy person doesn't have to deal with this unknown thing that eventually took Frank from us. One thing that I don't think any of us can bear right now is the thought of Frank's amazingly warm, accepting, and loving parents deal with an unnecessary reminder of their grief in the form of medical bills.
I know it isn't easy to think about logistics and things like money right now, but the fact is that Brian's parents are going to be dealing with a lot of bills from his hospital stays and medical treatments. And they shouldn't have to. That just seems like an unnecessary reminder for two amazing people who have already been through so much. We're going to have two different ways people can donate to possibly help alleviate some of that stress, and this is the first one. Keep your eyes open in the next few days, because there's also going to be a Frank-approved viral video linked to this account, and hopefully very soon there will be a pretty big party where we'll have DVD's of him riding, print photos, tag football-challenges, Frank Trivia, and of course, lots and lots of beer and boxed wine that will all be available for whatever you choose to donate. Anything at all helps. It doesn't matter if you can't spare a lot or a little, because whatever we raise will no doubt be a huge help to his wonderful family. If you can't donate anything, just sharing this page is an enormous help. We all love Brian, and it's nice to know that we all have each other right now. Everyone being closer because of this has been such an amazing silver lining, and so hopefully doing this for his parents will be just another thing we can all do together.
Every single penny donated goes to his parents, and I will post updates as we go along. If we reach our goal, I'll definitely add an update with some type of image or such to show that his parents received this amazing gift. If this thing really gets steam (or if we can't make an in-person benefit happen), I'll add updates about getting dvd's, photos, and such to those of you able to share/contribute.
