“Bre’s Bears”
BreAnn Faith is my 9 year old daughter that was diagnosed with a rare Pott’s Puffy Tumor in her forehead when she was 7 years old. She endured many surgeries and spent 17 straight days in the hospital. Last year, she came to me and said she wanted to give teddy bears to people in the hospital at Christmas that couldn’t be home with their loved ones. She got this idea because Children’s in Dallas and people that visited flooded her with teddy bears! Those teddy bears really lifted her spirits, and she said she wanted to make others feel as loved as she did. So last year, she collected “99” teddy bears and delivered them one by one to patients on the 4th floor of Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas. She walked in each room one by one wth a teddy bear and gave each patient a hug and said Merry Christmas with the help of the hospital’s director over Volunteer Services. BreAnn also delivered a bunch to the Oncology wing of the hospital where she witnessed nurses cry because they weren’t used to anyone doing that for
the adults.
BreAnn wants to establish this as an official charity this year and is trying to raise the money to file the paperwork in order to do so, as well as raise the money to purchase more teddy bears for her to return to Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Tx and deliver more of her Bre’s Bears to patients again this year.
